The city of Boston and its extraordinary history and institutions will be at the heart of the class and students will frequently visit sites close to the campus. This course offers a basic introduction to American culture and society through the study of American History. Additionally, since paralegals have become an important part of education law enforcement and practice, several assignments will focus on practical paralegal work. The course will cover fundamental legal issues balancing the interests of the public, schools, students, and parents.
